THE GLAD TIDING
To design "The Glad Tiding", the first line of famous poetry by Hafiz, a Persian poet from the 14th century, is written using the characteristic of the Kufic script.
The meaning of this first line is “Received the glad tiding that the time of sorrow shall not remain”. Although the poetry was written about 7 centuries ago, its concept is contemporary, and its meaning can be applied to today’s situation. Surrounded by all the bad news, these days humanity needs optimism as a motivation to move forward. Humanity needs to hear and/or read Hafiz’s affirmation as a reminder that nothing will last forever, even the sorrow or any other unpleasant situation. The first line of this poetry also reminds us that we should embrace and celebrate the temporality of every single moment of our lives.
