QAJAR

The confrontation of tradition and modernity has always been an integral part of most art movements throughout history. During the Iranian Qajar period, due to the strong influences of western art and the court's desire to experience the modern world, this duality was manifested in the social, cultural, and artistic relations of the society. Following the link between traditional and western art, a new type of women portraits emerged, as well as images of women in Iranian painting.

In the 1950s and 1960s, in the United Kingdom and the United States, the pop art movement was formed to bridge the gap between fine art traditions and later graphic advertising and art. Andy Warhol's print portraits of celebrities are among the movement's most important relics.

The "Qajar" design is based on the similarity of the pop art movement, and the changes that took place in Iranian painting during the Qajar period. In this design, inspired by the artworks of Andy Warhol and his famous portraits, we have placed a portrait of an Iranian Qajar woman among four frames with different color backgrounds.
