BIBI Unisex Sweatshirt

In the "Bibi" design, we have placed a portrait of an Iranian Qajar woman, from the 19th century, instead of
the picture of the Queen on the playing cards. Due to the strong influences of western art and the
court's desire to experience the modern world, a new type of women portraits emerged, as well as
images of women in Iranian painting during the Qajar period. In this portrait, a court lady wearing
delicate textiles, with different layers, varied textures, and heavy jeweled ornamentation, represents
fashion, which was an important part of the Iranian culture during the Qajar period.

Playing cards mostly portray cultural icons more closely related to existing pop culture, with examples
ranging from comic superhero characters to modern TV hits, and even pop culture icons. In this context,
the “Bibi” design represents the confrontation of tradition and modernity.
